This testimonial speaks for itself! (for kind words from my two legged clients, please scroll down after the video)

This is what a very patient dog trainer can do when he finds himself without a dog. It makes training a canine seem like a walk in the park.

And from our 2 legged Ottawa friends:

Kevin is an incredible trainer! He is patient, knowledgeable and takes the time to understand the “why” behind dog behaviour. I was most impressed with Kevin’s ability to train my dog to walk without pulling in record time! Most importantly, he teaches you (the owner) how to properly interact with your dog. Leaving our training sessions, my pup only continued to improve in his obedience. I would 100000% recommend Kevin to anyone who wants quick, efficient and long-lasting results.

Cassandra & Alex were kind enough to let me record them sharing their experience from our first session and their practice afterwards. (Video below)

Cassandra and Alex share their experience after the first session of my Loose Leash Walking Crash Course

I can’t begin to express how thrilled I am to have signed up for Kevin’s training services. I’ve been struggling with walking my dog on a leash for quite some time. Kevin’s services are hands down the best investment in both time and money that I’ve made with respect to dog training. In fact, if I had trained with Kevin in the first place, I’d have saved a great deal of money, time, frustration and even a few tears!

My assumption was that dog training was a “one size fits all” straight forward practice. Unfortunately after going to “doggy kindergarten” and working one on one with another private trainer, I found that I still wasn’t getting the results that I wanted. Progress was time consuming and results inconsistent.

Kevin taught me the correct use of appropriate tools and techniques which allowed me to see positive changes after only one session. Our second session was even better and I am now able to confidently take my dog out while using the tools and techniques that I learned in my sessions with Kevin. Walking my dog has become pleasant, and I finally feel successful.

Kevin is extremely knowledgeable, kind, patient and confident. He makes the techniques and their implementation accessible and user friendly so that, when training with him, you feel successful and competent. I very much appreciated his non-judgmental and encouraging approach to working together.

Without hesitation, I highly recommend Kevin’s services and am so very grateful that I had the opportunity and the pleasure to work with him.”

Thanks Kevin!

We have a 1.5 year old F1B Bernedoodle named “Joy” who is a very good boy but he always struggled with leash walking. We did take him to several in-person private training sessions and also group classes. We even tried online training but nothing actually helped. This is not necessarily because they are bad but because they never focused on training the owner. Yes! Getting dogs to pick up the training is about 40% of the job, but then it is up to the owner to be consistent with the training, which is about 60% of the work.

Whenever we would go out with Joy for a walk it was stressful because of his non-stop pulling. He would lunge at other dogs to play, or pull us towards a squirrel. Several times, my wife was worried that she might injure her hands due to such sudden pulls from the dog. We were desperately looking for a method that actually works and that is when I came across Kevin from Look Mom, No Leash! Voila!! We found what we needed to make our summer walks with Joy FUN.

With Kevin it is not about more sessions = more money for him, but instead he will work according to the situation. If he feels that the dog is doing well, and can benefit from more time, he is happy to extend the session for the best result. I would say Kevin is one of the most genuine dog trainers we have met; and the videos that he shares of his results are real! We were a little skeptical about the videos showing “improvement in leash walking after one session” but we were overjoyed when we saw the same change in our dog’s leash walking skill on day one. Absolutely fantastic!

We have never met anyone who understands dogs like Kevin does. He is a fantastic trainer, and we are so glad that we invested in Joy’s training with him. Could not ask for better. I would definitely recommend his training to anyone. If you are looking for proper loose leash walking with your dog, go to Kevin!

A couple of things to note: the training is not just for your dog but also for you. So be prepared to learn and commit to it so that you can enjoy peaceful walks with your dog in the future.

Before taking Gunner for training with Kevin I literally could not walk him. He is a very strong Chocolate Lab and he would drag me wherever he wanted to go. I had absolutely no control over my dog.

I had attended a basic obedience school with him, which was supposed to help us with loose leash walking, but it turned into a promotion for the store and I was told my dog had anxiety, which is not the case.

We have finished 2 of the 3 sessions in Kevin’s Loose Leash Walking Crash Course and, while Gunner and I still need to fine tune our skills, it is already a pleasure to walk him - and his goofy happy face says it all!

Gunner even has better behaviour overall just from the loose leash training. He is more obedient inside the house as well as on walks.

We are 100% satisfied with Kevin’s training. We can actually walk now and go places!

At the first session, I was surprised and appreciated that there was no scheduled end time. Kevin kept going until we got to a good spot for us to go off and practice before the next session. Even though I initially thought the cost was a little much, you get what you pay for. There are no time restraints on the lessons because Kevin actually wants you and your dog to succeed, and he gives you the time needed to do so.

Kevin is patient with Gunner and myself. He also never made me feel like I couldn’t do it or that our past issues were all an epic failure. He is proud of his accomplishments with you and your dog and makes you feel proud too. It felt easy and holistic.

I would recommend this program because of the practicality of it. It’s easy, quick and positive. It’s not overwhelming for me or my dog. Kevin made it so straightforward and enjoyable; and of course the end results are amazing!

My husband and I brought back a street dog from Costa Rica. Although she’s the ideal dog at home, walking with her on leash was less than ideal. We couldn’t walk a few steps without her having to sniff; and she was very reactive to other dogs on leash, which was very embarrassing. She was also very reactive to squirrels, rabbits and trucks, and would lunge at them. We decided we needed professional help.

After researching several options, Kevin appeared to be the person that could help us.

After only 2 training sessions, our dog is already a great loose leash walker. It has been a real success. Rica no longer sniffs while walking, nor does she bark at other dogs. It’s pretty unbelievable that she changed so drastically simply after having 2 sessions.

In the past, we would have dreaded crossing other dogs on leash due to her reactivity, but after the first 2 sessions we felt comfortable and confident walking by them; and in fact heard other owners tell their dogs “Why can’t you behave like that dog?” This was music to our ears.

What a great choice it turned out to be to have chosen Kevin for help! He is extremely knowledgeable, patient and passionate; and the techniques used worked very well. The training results were way beyond what we had expected.

We would highly recommend Kevin, and in fact have done so to other dog owners already.

Our dog, Loki, is a 15-month-old German and Australian Shepherd mix who pulled on walks to get ahead of us. He always barked, jumped, and tried to lunge at almost anything he saw, even if it was far away. He was extremely reactive to dogs, squirrels, bunnies, cats, children, people on bikes, scooters, etc.

Loki had gone to a puppy obedience school. We also tried various dog trainers on YouTube, and we even went to two other dog trainers. Before finding Kevin we had no luck with his reactivity, and it was worsening.

We have only had 2 of the 3 sessions in Kevin’s Loose Leash Walking Crash Course and Loki has already improved tremendously! He walks properly on a leash, stops when we stop and walks right by our side! He stopped pulling and barking at the previous distractions. Even after the first session of the training, Loki was less stressed about walks when we would go out to practice...even when he saw something that would usually set him off.

We know if we keep following Kevin’s notes, and advice from the sessions, it will change our life. We will be less anxious to go out and we’ll be able to enjoy walks instead of rushing home before he reacts to something. We won’t get the stares and people telling us our dog is scary anymore.

What we liked most about the loose leash walking course was that Kevin took his time to not only tell us but also show us where we were going wrong, when we were walking with Loki, so we could see our mistakes and correct them. No other trainer did that.

Kevin also took the time to explain everything he was using to help train our dog and he reinforced how everything would help with his walking and reactivity.

We really like Kevin’s method of training – he makes it about the dog’s comfort - he made sure Loki understood and was secure with everything he taught him and that allowed Loki to calm down quite a bit.

Other dog trainers told us it would be very hard to teach Loki to not be reactive and Kevin gave us hope from the start that Loki could change.

We are very happy with the service Kevin has provided. He taught us so much we never knew and we’re so thankful for his help. His sessions are working and any questions we have are answered without hesitation. We definitely will keep using his methods.

If you are looking for a great trainer who gives good advice, we 100% recommend “Look Mom, No Leash!” because we saw results fast and we are so happy with our little guy.

Before my wife and I took the Loose Leash Walking Crash Course, our Border Collie, Cleo, was a constant puller and had very strong reactivity to cars. She even reacted explosively when cars would start or when people would get into the driver’s side door.

We had taken a standard puppy class , where we did attempt to work on this behaviour but with very limited success, if any.

With Kevin’s course there was almost an immediate improvement. We have had 2 of our 3 sessions so far and, while Cleo still has a few reactive moments, she continues to improve with the training. She is now focused on me or my wife as we practice, and even more exciting is that Cleo looks forward to this training every day.

With the information, written material and proper tools provided with the program, we can focus on the training as a process, which has really taken the pressure off of us, making the whole experience more enjoyable.

When we were contemplating taking this course, we were a bit nervous about the cost but Kevin was fantastic in breaking down the process in the first session and really showing the value of the training - as well as sharing his knowledge and troubleshooting other behaviours. I can honestly say that this was money well spent because not only have we seen a drastic change in Cleo’s behaviour but also in ourselves, in how we approach the training; and we still have one more session to address any questions and iron out challenges!

I would, and actually have recommended this course to friends as well as people I have met while walking Cleo. The biggest moment for me was that before this people would ask if our dog was okay, because of her extreme reactivity, and now people stop and comment on how well trained she is. My wife and I couldn’t be happier with the training!
— Joshua, Christine & Cleo, Westboro, Ottawa
We recently adopted our dog, Enza, a 5yr-old potcake from Barbados. Having been a stray for most of her life, she was not used to leash walking, and not only did she pull quite a bit but she was also very reactive to other dogs when on leash, so we sought Kevin’s help.

Kevin’s loose leash walking training program has completely changed our walks with our girl. Kevin showed us how to better connect with Enza on our walks and, along with the tactics, this has helped with both her pulling and her reactivity to other dogs, which now makes our walks a breeze! We even get many comments from other dog walkers in our neighborhood on how well our dog walks on leash with us.

Kevin has been so helpful during this process, not only helping Enza but also helping us to understand the methods and psychology of our dog.

We would definitely recommend his services to anyone who is also experiencing challenges walking their dog!

Thank you so much Kevin for your services and professionalism! It’s been a pleasure to have your help!

My 12 year old Border Collie, Ricco, was recently diagnosed with diabetes and needs daily needles and a periodic “Glucose Curve”. The first curve was done at the vet and it was a very traumatic experience for Ricco. He was in a kennel all day with the vet having to prick his ear every hour for a glucose level. When I picked him up he was traumatized and shaking. The vet advised that if we could do it at home it would be a lot better for him and for us (and less expensive too).

The two daily needles of insulin were no issue at all. However, trying to prick his ear for the curve was another story. Ricco would not even allow me to touch his ears, let alone keep him still or at ease enough to perform the test. He was shaking so bad I was worried he was going to have a heart attack.

I was very torn because the test results would help us better control his condition but he was so traumatized; and going back to vet for the day was totally out of the question.

I reached out to Kevin and explained my situation. He stated that I would need to turn this negative experience into a positive for Ricco. He provided me with the steps to take and what to do, and not to do, and told me to be patient and take the time I needed at each step to ensure this would work.

He was a godsend. After just a few weeks of following the steps I was able to successfully perform a full day of glucose readings for Rico’s curve, with him remaining extremely calm.

I was in total amazement to see this transition, and never would have believed that it was possible.

Kevin’s knowledge and confidence, knowing that this would work, saved us all a lot of stress...and likely will keep my furry boy around longer.

I have even been using this training information in other situations that make Ricco uncomfortable.

I would recommend “Look Mom, No Leash!” to anyone who needs a little or a lot of support and guidance with their dog. It is truly amazing what can be done when learning from someone with as much knowledge and experience as Kevin.

We registered for Kevin’s Loose Leash Walking Crash Course with our dog, Maggie, an 18-month old labrador/border collie mix, who spent the first year of her life on a farm and never on a leash.

Before the course, Maggie pulled like a truck on leash and was reactive towards other dogs, some people and cars/trucks. We had tried some basic training using treats and were successful teaching her simple commands like sit and stay but struggled with loose leash walking.

Almost immediately during the first session with Kevin, Maggie was walking on a loose leash, and by the second session she was walking past other dogs, people and moving vehicles without even looking at them!

Kevin is a very calm, responsive and knowledgeable trainer and we (including Maggie) felt very comfortable working with him.

The course provided us with the tools and knowledge to provide the structure and confidence Maggie needed. We are practicing what we learned every day and continue to see amazing progress.

We are now more confident taking Maggie out and she is a much happier dog, less stressed and much more well-behaved on our walks.

We would highly recommend this program to others who are struggling with a dog that pulls on leash.
— Jenny McLaughlin, Ottawa
Before our training with Kevin, Monty was always pulling on his leash and walking ahead. He always barked and jumped and twisted when we encountered another dog during our walks.

Monty now walks next to me and does not pull at all. He also stopped reacting and barking when seeing other dogs, so it is so much easier to take him on long walks now - and we actually enjoy them. No more embarrassing encounters!

The cost of the Loose Leash Walking Crash Course was worth the investment because it changed Monty’s pulling behaviour and reactivity, making it enjoyable to walk him. Kevin was dedicated to the program. He took the time to explain the training process and he gave prompt responses to our emails and inquiries. He also showed patience in training both Monty and the family.

We are very happy with the training and we would definitely recommend this program to others, because we saw a great change in Monty that benefited the whole family.

Coco is a very bright dog and had learned many other things, so Chris and I kept believing that we could teach her to walk on a leash. We persisted but eventually came to realize that we very much needed your expert guidance, and so did she.

Coco was wilful and hard to manage when we walked her. We could not have an enjoyable walk as she pulled, to wherever she wanted to go, or she stopped and bit down on her leash. She jumped at other oncoming dogs and humans alike. On our way back home, she would lie down and not move, not wanting to go back indoors.

We came to you feeling very disenchanted and somewhat discouraged by Coco’s walking behaviours. We couldn’t imagine that she would learn to walk properly, given her unruly conduct, which had lasted for two months.

We watched you with her at the first session; how you had so much patience with her and how she responded to your guidance. We also saw how you truly cared for her, giving her a pat of encouragement when she needed it. Your knowledge of dogs and their behaviour is remarkable and you are always looking to find the solution to a challenge.

Chris and I were given our own instructions as well because this training is not just for the dog but very much for the dog owners too - maybe more so for the owners.

You have always replied to our emails and questions in a timely fashion, and in a professional manner. We appreciate that you are dependable and are there for support should we need you.

We liked that the training was at your home because we could all focus well and learn with little distraction. It was an added bonus that your dog Bear could be a part of the training as other dogs are always going to be on our walks and Coco needed to learn to not be distracted by them.

We would recommend your Loose Leash Walking Crash Course without hesitation. A walk with your dog should be an enjoyable outing for all and is something that will be done for many years to come.

Thank you for helping us Kevin. We love our Coco so very much and her walk is now something we all look forward to. We are very grateful for your help.

We first saw Kevin with our sheepadoodle Ms. Daisy Pearl when she was only 3.5 months old. We had been doing an online puppy obedience training course that included loose leash walking [not one affiliated with Kevin at Look Mom, No Leash!]. Unfortunately our puppy was still pulling and totally distracted on walks, so much so that I often dreaded taking her out. From the beginning of my interaction with Kevin, he took a lot of time to understand what was going on with my puppy and after the first session Ms. Daisy Pearl was about 80% better at loose leash walking - we were thrilled with the speed at which he was able to turn her around. That said, Kevin was committed to getting her to puppy perfection. It took a few sessions, but Kevin’s persistence has resulted in a puppy that is a real pleasure to walk. Without Kevin’s Loose Leash Walking Crash Course, I’m sure it would have taken us years to get to where we are today.

One of my clients, who had 2 puppies, brought his second dog for training after seeing the results I achieved with the first. I considered that to be my best (unwritten) testimonial. He has also recommended my services to his family, friend's and neighbours. Below is a note that he sent to me in reply to my “Thank You” for recommending me to others in need of help with their dogs' training.

Hey Kevin,

It is my pleasure. I have in fact referred a number of new dog owners to you since you trained our girls (Nelly and Fergie). My referral always comes with the same endorsement of your methodology, your passion for your craft and ultimately your results…all very impressive.

Nice to hear from you.
— Mark White, (Cedarhill Estates) Ottawa
Rustam, my 4 year old Indian mixed breed street-dog, was super sweet & attentive indoors but turned into the most curious dog on leash outside. He used to get distracted with anything possible, even the turn of a leaf. Then, when we moved to Ottawa from India last year it was a very different environment for Rustam with bunnies and squirrels all around. He reacted not just to them but almost instantly to any other dog on leash during our walks. He barked and pulled even if the other animal was super friendly.

In my search for a canine behaviourist, I came across the Look Mom, No Leash! website and was interested in speaking with Kevin. We exchanged a couple of emails and arranged a phone call to discuss his methods and ideology of dog training. After speaking with him, both me and my husband were 100% convinced that we would like him to work with Rustam. On Kevin’s recommendation, we decided to go ahead with his Loose Leash Walking Crash Course program.

We had our first 2 sessions within a couple of days so that we could reinforce the training and get a good assessment of Rustam’s response. We were not at all doubtful that Rustam would be a great student but, to my surprise, the program taught a lot to the humans as well. The small details which Kevin shared during the training went a long way to help with our future interactions with Rustam.

We are very happy that we had the opportunity to meet and train with Kevin because Rustam learned to walk on a loose leash during the first session and we saw significant changes in his behaviour during our walks. Thanks to Kevin, it is a more peaceful time outdoors now.

Kevin is a genuine teacher, and he not only took the time needed to ensure we learned what was necessary, but also shared more when we showed an interest in learning.

A few years after getting our first dog, Floyd, we brought Maggie – a hound retriever mix – into our home. She had been one of many outdoor farm dogs and was very unaccustomed to indoor suburban life.

Initially, she and Floyd would get into scraps, which prompted our call to Kevin. We had thought the problem was with Maggie and her upbringing, but Kevin made us see the issue was actually Floyd, who believed himself to be the boss of the house (despite being ½ Maggie’s size) and was pushing her into confrontations.

Kevin taught us how to establish a leadership structure in the house, placing the dogs on equal footing and preventing further conflict.

We also made use of the same training advice for Maggie that Kevin provided for Floyd years back regarding barking, and she’s as quiet as a mouse when we leave the house.
— Megan Caldwell and Brett Capwell, Ottawa

Below is the testimonial I had received from Brett and Megan, after I met with them regarding Floyd’s barking issue when he was left alone.

After moving into a new house, our dog (Floyd) began barking throughout the day when we were at work, which our neighbors were fair to lament.

Floyd was already reasonably trained and we’ve had him for 3 years, so we were at a loss. After unsuccessfully attempting some Goggled suggestions, Kevin was recommended to us by a local pet store. He did not believe ‘intensive’ training was needed and recommended a short in-home visit one night to educate us on the behaviours necessary to deal with the issue. He clearly cared for his work, was friendly and professional, and took the time necessary to ensure we understood; even preparing typed reference information for us to keep.

Since implementing Kevin’s suggestions - and sticking to them - Floyd has stopped barking throughout the day, and even barks less when anyone enters the house (this is continually improving).

We thought Kevin was great, and have already recommended his services to others. He did not try to up-sell us on services we did not need, and followed up with us to see if we had any additional questions. We would certainly use his services again for future pets.
— Brett, Megan and Floyd (Westboro) Ottawa
Our dog Zouzou is a hyper Jack Russell that was good in the house but impossible to take for a walk. From the moment we stepped outside she was pulling against the leash, choking and barking at everything that moved.

We had hired a trainer some years ago and read books, watched videos, but nothing really worked.

We contacted Kevin with the hope that we can see a change in her behaviour and we were very impressed by the Boot Camp training. It was impressive to see how our Zouzou’s behaviour was more fear-driven than anything else and that Kevin was like our dog’s psychologist. Kevin was trying to dig deep to understand how to approach her and establish trust first and then teaching her the commands and walking on a leash without pulling. We were impressed by Kevin’s communication with us during the Boot Camp with detailed emails and videos with Zouzou’s progress. We really enjoyed the updates and couldn’t believe the progress we were seeing. Above all else Kevin had such a degree of professionalism for the entire process that made us feel confident in the training she was receiving. At the end of the process it was great to be trained ourselves on how to maintain the leadership role and continue training with other aspects.

Zouzou is not only better, but she seems more like herself. She is calmer and we all love going out for more walks than ever before! We feel as if we have a deeper bond with her now. In addition, we now join Kevin on his Sunday pack walks! We would recommend this training to any dog and owner!!
— Katerina Papakonstantinou & Nick Korwin, Ottawa
When she was a puppy, we signed Maddie up for standard group dog training, with another trainer, but that did not help her to progress; in fact, she came out worse than when she started. She did not respond consistently to basic commands, howled when left alone, was very nervous and excitable. She was also very challenging when on leash, barking, howling and pulling non-stop.

I then stumbled upon the Look Mom, No Leash! website and saw Kevin’s unusual Stay and Learn Boot Camp approach. The techniques that he uses, along with his enthusiasm, passion and dedication convinced us to entrust him with our Maddie. That was the best decision that we could have ever made! She now walks on a loose leash, stays focused on me, doesn’t howl, bark or pull endlessly. She’s like night and day already and, as we continue to practice and improve her training, Kevin remains available for assistance.

Among others, we find the release command to be particularly helpful. Something logical but that we had not encountered before. It is versatile and effective. I use it to transition from heel walking to saying hello to the neighbourhood kids or dogs and to let her pee. Or to tell her that she can leave the kennel in the morning. The point is that her actions now take place because we decide that she can, not because she wants to. Et pour les francophones, Kevin forme aussi les chiens en français - aucun problème!

Mom and I are super happy with the results! Overall, we now have a dog that is much more mellow, obedient, focused, wonderful to be around, and that we are very proud of! Neighbours have even told me how impressed they are, and I always share my “secret”! Don’t hesitate to sign up because Kevin truly is a gifted “top dog influencer”.
— Christine (Westboro) Ottawa
My dog, Bentley, would continually choke himself by pulling against the leash to get at squirrels, bunnies or other dogs and distractions. He would cough and sputter but still pull. He nearly ripped my arms off he would pull so hard!

I wasn’t enjoying taking him for walks at all so, one evening after a very frustrating walk, I did a Google search and found “Look Mom, No Leash!” and decided to send a query.

From the long, detailed and friendly response I received back from Kevin, the trainer, I immediately knew that this was the place for me.

I spoke with Kevin on the phone the next day and we chatted for nearly 30 minutes about my frustrations and his programs. We later had a meeting with him, and his amazing rescue dog Bear, and I knew right away that Kevin would be an effective trainer for us.

We signed up for his 6 day Stay and Learn Boot Camp and I could not be happier with the results. Not only did Bentley learn the basics but I have also learned so much about training a dog.

Bentley now walks nicely beside me, no matter what speed I go, and he can be easily re-focused from distractions with a technique that Kevin taught me.

My husband couldn’t believe the change, in just 6 days, when we went for our first walk in the evening - after the take home session when I picked Bentley up.

I am so thankful that I found Look Mom, No Leash!

Prior to working with Kevin, Epi went for walks and chose to bring me along for the ride. He would stop and sniff what he wanted, when he wanted, and had significant reactivity issues when encountering other animals. Squirrels and other dogs became a constant obstacle on our walks and it had gotten to the point that my wife no longer wanted to walk him.

After having spent a 5 day bootcamp with Kevin, Epi is now a new dog! He now pays attention to me almost exclusively, changing speeds and directions as I dictate. On more than one occasion I’ve been stopped on the street by people commenting on how “good a boy” he was. We still have signs of the old Epi that appear from time to time, but with the skills that Kevin has taught me to continue Epi’s training I have no doubt that he’ll be perfect before long.

I am very happy with the training Epi received from Kevin. It’s remarkable how much he was able to accomplish in such a short amount of time. Most importantly, however, Kevin truly cared about Epi and continues to be fully invested in his success as we move forward. I would not hesitate for a second in recommending Kevin to others, and you will not get a cookie cutter approach to your dog’s training. He spends the time necessary to identify the problem behaviours and then customizes a training plan to your dog’s needs.
— Michael O'Brien (Westboro) Ottawa
Kevin! Thanks for the generous advice and time! We love your approach to dog training. Walking Bert is so much easier and less stressful now. You got me interested in doggy psychology too! I’m glad I let you try out the prong collar on Bert. I was hesitant but it was all worth it. ;-)

I called Kevin in November to talk about the difficulties I was having with my new 85 lb, 5 year old, rescue dog Tipper. It was obvious that Kevin is very passionate about his work and I felt like he would be the right man for the job.

I had wanted to see if I could do some training on my own but ended up calling Kevin again in the spring because Tipper was still constantly pulling on walks; to the point I thought he would choke himself to death. He also went crazy whenever dogs or other animals were anywhere near him. I usually just took him to fenced parks to run around because walking him was too stressful.

We sent Tipper to Kevin’s 6 day “Stay and Learn Boot Camp” and at the take-home session at the end we were amazed to see how Tipper clearly saw Kevin as leader. During the session he wasn’t sitting beside me, he was right by Kevin. It was awesome to see such a strong bond after only 6 days and as I watched Tipper listen and obey every command, I felt so happy and proud of him. He walked on a loose leash beside Kevin as if he’d been doing it for years and I was SO impressed. It was like night and day.

Since then, we have been working very hard, using the information Kevin gave us, and Tipper now walks with us the same. It takes work but the training is fun and I love seeing the results.

Kevin was amazing to work with. He listened and had advice for any problem we were having. Just speaking with him over the phone the first time, I could tell that he loves what he does and takes the training very seriously - and that is clear in the results.

If you are as dedicated as Kevin, and willing to put in the work using his methods, it is so worth it.

I will always recommend Kevin to anyone looking for a dog trainer. I’m not sure what I would have done without him.
— Lisa Hughes, Ottawa
My attitude towards Kira has changed. We’ve learned a lot and we are now able to communicate with Kira a lot better. We no longer fear walks, we now LOVE walks. It’s been an incredible experience so far.
— John Paez (via Ottawa Cannine Social Club)
Rico and Marley barked excessively whenever someone or something went by the house. I tried to correct them but it never seemed to help.
Since taking Kevin’s training advice I am able to have the dogs give warning, which I want, but they will now stop on command.

I was totally amazed that Kevin knew the root of the problem so quickly and helped me change these dogs drastically in just a few days.
I’m completely satisfied with the direction and training suggestions that Kevin provided me. He is an amazing dog trainer! I would recommend him to anyone. You can really tell that he truly cares about not only the dogs but the owners and, although it is a business, he is equally as glad to receive the reward of success at the end of the day!!!
— Annette Hickey Hatchett Lake, Nova Scotia (Disclaimer - sent in by Kevin's dog-loving little sister)
Over the past year or so, Myla had become a challenge to walk and dog park visits were few and far between. She pulled a lot and always kept tension on the leash. We actually bought a harness for her to get the pressure off of her neck but the harness encouraged her to pull even more. She was always looking for something to investigate, a cat, a rabbit, an apple core, a tumbling grocery bag etc. If it was in her sight she did what she could to take me to the item.

Myla’s interactions with other dogs was always hit and miss but it grew to the point where her meeting dogs on our walks was stopped. The enjoyment of walking her became stressful and the bonding became strained. One evening, I looked at Derek and said, “we need to do something for Myla. She needs one-on-one training and we need to be re-trained, as well.”

Although she did attend obedience school about 3 years ago and did very well. We focused on the commands that we felt were important to know, and this was all done within the home. What we didn’t appreciate enough was that training indoors is much different when it moves outdoors. Thanks to you, we are understanding how we confused her in our training methods and simply didn’t keep up with it.

We are so pleased with Myla’s transformation in only 6 days. In fact, she was loose leash walking on day 2 [on her first outing, after some foundation work] and on day 3 she was sitting between Bear [Kevin’s dog] and a third dog. Something I would never have imagined. The videos and pictures of her progress were amazing and we watched her transform before our eyes. It’s like you pressed her reset button and now [with continued support & guidance] she’s on her way to becoming the dog we believed she could be. And you opened our eyes to a dog’s world a lot more than anyone who is in the business.

Are we happy with your services you asked. Very much so. From the very first time we chatted by telephone, I felt you were the right person to help us. You are patient and really love training dogs. We also enjoyed the video and picture updates along the way. You made leaving her with you very comfortable. We’ll refer you to anyone who is struggling with their dog.

Before Kevin’s 5 day Boot Camp, our dog Tessa was very reactive when encountering other dogs. She would bark and lunge and, while not being ready to fight - especially larger dogs, it was unpleasant and embarrassing. As a result our walks became significantly less enjoyable as time went on.

We had hired another personal dog trainer for 6 sessions but that made no difference in her behaviour.

When we met Kevin, and he saw Tessa in action, he assured us that he could help. After boot camp, and with the information and sessions included, Tessa is now a much better dog. She will walk by other dogs with little interest, or she’ll stop and sniff when allowed, as per normal dog behaviour. Walks are once again an enjoyable experience!!

We’ve been very happy with both the results and the follow-up guidance Kevin provided.

Hi Kevin,

I’ll start by saying that we’re very impressed that you were able to create so much change in Marley in seemingly such a short period of time!  We’re impressed by both him and of course you and your abilities!

We got him home he behaved as if he was just waiting for commands to obey. We obliged and found him to respond quite nicely.

Generally having him back and contrasting his behavior to Sasha’s it’s pretty impressive in favour of Marley. Seeing the difference and the lack of control we have over her is making us excited to get her through boot camp to have a new dog!

Anyway, it’s really amazing what you did and we’re enjoying figuring out how to make use of and get better at the info you’ve shared with us.  It’s very promising :-)

I am the proud owner of a seven month old Portuguese Water Dog. I knew they were considered very high energy and athletic which quickly made me realize I needed a professional to guide me in our training.

After meeting Kevin at my house and introducing him to Leo, I was immediately impressed with his passion for training and love for dogs.

I chose Kevin’s six day boot camp and what he accomplished during that time was just what Leo needed. Leo’s transformation from being very difficult to control, to a well behaved puppy, has made the experience even more enjoyable.

Although he still has his puppy moments, I just want to say how pleased I am with what Kevin accomplished in such a short time. There is now a solid foundation to build upon and I look forward to going to the next level, with Kevin’s help, in the follow-up sessions in the near future.

It’s great to see someone who is passionate about what they do and I’m sure his relationship with Leo will be a long one.

Since Boot Camp Milo is doing fantastic!

Before your training he was rambunctious, hyper, disobedient and a bad puller when on leash. Now he is much more attentive, calmer and more tired.

I am so happy with what Milo and I both learned from you. It has improved our relationship 100%.

Even my other dog, Bonnie, is learning right along with him, it’s been great. They no longer rush to the door when someone comes. They don’t bolt out the back door to get to the yard, they aren’t jumping at the gate to get to their food. They still play and rough house, but can be stopped instantly. And both dogs are doing well on walks now too.

I can’t thank you enough for all you taught both Milo and me. It’s made a world of difference. I’m so thankful we found you.
